Who We Are
Here we bring you a brief introduction to the many activities taking place at Dale Street. If you would like any more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Worship at Dale Street
Church Family Groups
This ladies’ group meets on Tuesday evenings twice a month at the home of one of the members. The meeting is usually based round a talk or an activity in which all can take part. Husbands are welcome on special occasions. The group celebrated its 35th anniversary in Autumn 2012.
DADS and TOTS
A group of fathers (and grandfathers) of pre-school children
bring them to Dale Street most Saturday mornings.
A dozen or so men from Dale Street and other local Methodist churches meet at an Indian restaurant on a Friday evening every two months or so.
LADIES SOCIAL EVENINGS
This new venture has so far been based on a meal together at a local Italian restaurant.
This group meets each Tuesday evening in the church hall for a few social games. It’s a good way to blow away the cobwebs and forget some of the problems of ‘normal’ life.
Operating as Dale Street Scout and Guide Group, thriving uniformed organisations are available for young people across the whole age range. They take part in all the activities associated with the Scout and Guide movement and produce their spectacular gang show ‘Daley Sketches’ every two years. Explorers will be found as young leaders in several of the junior sections.
Age Concern Leamington Spa run Lunch Clubs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the hall at Dale Street. Volunteer drivers fetch and return members in a minibus and hot meals, coffee and tea are served. Members are occasionally entertained by groups of children from local schools.
Action for Children
The Dale Street AFC Support Group are regularly involved with fund-raising events for this charity which helps parents and children. The autumn coffee morning/fayre and ‘Welcome to Christmas’ are long-established annual events. The Children's Centre at Dale Street is supported by Action for Children.
Friends of Homewood
The Methodist Church supports MHA which provides care for older
people – primarily through a group of Methodist Homes throughout the country.
The house-to-house collections and the Mayor’s Charity Walk in May are both well supported by Dale Street.
Leamington Lifeline Alarm Trust
This local charity helps to provide and maintain telephone alarm systems for old or disabled people in the neighbourhood. The equipment links to a service operated by Warwick District Council, giving assistance in the event of an emergency. Each person is visited regularly by a volunteer who checks that the equipment is working properly. The officials and many of the volunteers are members of Dale Street church.
Also, see our Links page for details of these and other charities supported by our activities.
