Age Concern

Age Concern cares about all older people and believes later life should be fulfilling and enjoyable.

Age Concern Leamington Spa operates Lunch and Day Clubs three days every week at Dale Street.

NCH NCH is one of the UK’s leading children’s charities. Through more than 460 projects they work with over 89,000 vulnerable children, young people and their families to ensure they reach their full potential.

Christian Aid

An agency of the churches in the UK and Ireland, Christian Aid works wherever the need is greatest, irrespective of religion. It supports local organisations, which are best placed to understand local needs, as well as giving help on the ground through 16 overseas offices.

Christian Aid believes in strengthening people to find their own solutions to the problems they face. It strives for a new world transformed by an end to poverty and campaigns to change the rules that keep people poor.

Amnesty International Amnesty International is a worldwide campaigning movement that works to promote all the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international standards. In particular, Amnesty International campaigns to free all prisoners of conscience; ensure fair and prompt trials for political prisoners; abolish the death penalty, torture and other cruel treatment of prisoners; end political killings and ‘disappearances’; and oppose human rights abuses by opposition groups.

CORD

CORD (formerly Christian Outreach) is a UK based Christian relief and development agency, established in 1967 to help war-orphaned and abandoned children in Vietnam. Their teams have worked with children, refugees and other vulnerable people in some of the poorest and most war-torn areas of the world.

Dale Street’s 2002 annual fund-raising campaign, ‘Focus 2002’, raised over £4000 for CORD, principally for projects in Afghanistan.

Traidcraft

Traidcraft is the UK’s largest fair trade organisation, set up to challenge the unfair way in which international trading systems are usually structured, making it difficult for ‘third world’ countries to compete on world markets and to earn enough money to pay for adequate food, shelter, health care and education.

Traidcraft operates on the principle that by paying a fair price for the products we buy, and establishing long term relationships of partnership and co-operation, we can help poor communities to work their way out of poverty and create a more equitable world.

Traidcraft products are available for sale at Dale Street after the morning service on the 3rd Sunday of each month.

Scouts

Girlguiding UK

Scouting is a world wide educational movement for young people, contributing to the fulfilment of their potential using a progressive and enjoyable values-based programme for personal development.

The Scout Association in the United Kingdom seeks to provide young people with opportunities to participate in adventurous outdoor activities, learn team-building skills and develop new friendships. Today, there are over half a million adults and young people enjoying the fun and friendship of Scouting in the United Kingdom.

Girlguiding UK (formally the Guide Association), as part of a worldwide movement, enables girls and young women to fulfil their potential and to take an active and responsible role in society through its distinctive, stimulating and enjoyable programme of activities delivered by trained volunteer leaders.

At Dale Street, we operate a joint Scout and Guide Group. Click here for more details.
