Prayers during the current emergency
In this time, Lord, sometimes referred to as a ‘season’ we continue to ask that you will be close by the people who are working on the front line of this world-wide medical emergency. We thank you for stories of encouragement and hope. We pray for those in authority that they will be blessed with wisdom and strength as they struggle to balance the spread of the disease with the economic problems. We pray, Father, for your blessing on the church and community, that all may be strengthened and our spirits warmed. Finally, we bring to mind those closest and dearest to us – the particularly vulnerable, those grieving and those caring and supporting. We are reminded, Lord, that “There is a time, God, for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” In the coming days may your joy be our strength when there are difficult times, and may your presence be the peace that overflows. in our lives. When we doubt your purpose, renew our vision. Help us to be faithful, humble servants, doing what we can to make the world a better place. Through Jesus Christ our Lord,
