Charitable giving
We regularly adopt charities, usually in the locality. This will allow for displays and visits so that we become involved rather than just giving money.
This scheme will run independently of the Action for Children support group.
We
have supported New
Chapters, an exciting new venture, in the heart of Leamington Spa.
It is a much- needed
service to help tackle the drug / alcohol and homeless crisis in our town.
This year during Lent we supported our local Food Bank.
Later this year we will support The Prince’s Trust which has provided labour and funding for our Good News Garden.
Friends of Homewood
The Methodist Church supports MHA which provides care for older people – primarily through a group of Methodist Homes throughout the country.
We have links with “Homewood”, the local Methodist Home in Leamington Spa.
Friends of Homewood provide extra support for the residents through visits and raising funds to enable the residents to receive occasional treats.
Leamington Street Pastors
Dale Street provides volunteers, joining others from various local churches. The pastors exist to create a more harmonious and safe environment for those out and about on the town’s streets at night.
Lettings and occasional happenings
We invite organisations to use our premises as much as possible in order to bring the community into the church – it also makes money for us.
On a Friday, we have a market selling homemade produce and we have occasional concerts in the church area which has a very good acoustic.
Recently for the second year running we were part of Leamington’s art week and hosted a remarkable exhibition of paintings and photographs. During the Commonwealth Games in 2022, we opened the church for toilets and drinks and became a temporary police station.
