 Action for Children Sponsored Walk

Action for Children is one of the UK’s leading children’s charities. Through more than 450 projects they work with over 170,000 vulnerable children, young people and their families to ensure they reach their full potential.

 Street Pastors

We are volunteers from various churches in Leamington, seeking to create a more harmonious and safe environment for those out and about on the town’s streets at night.

Following the ethos of the other 250 Street Pastor intitiatives nationally, we are not about preaching but about non-judgemental caring and supporting through listening and helping, meeting the needs of all, regardless of background.  We would welcome more volunteers or others forms of support.

 Christian Aid

An agency of the churches in the UK and Ireland, Christian Aid works wherever the need is greatest, irrespective of religion. It supports local organisations, which are best placed to understand local needs, as well as giving help on the ground through 16 overseas offices.

Christian Aid believes in strengthening people to find their own solutions to the problems they face. It strives for a new world transformed by an end to poverty and campaigns to change the rules that keep people poor.

 Amnesty Intrnational

Amnesty International is a worldwide campaigning movement that works to promote all the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international standards. In particular, Amnesty International campaigns to free all prisoners of conscience; ensure fair and prompt trials for political prisoners; abolish the death penalty, torture and other cruel treatment of prisoners; end political killings and ‘disappearances’; and oppose human rights abuses by opposition groups.

 CORD

CORD (formerly Christian Outreach) is a UK based Christian relief and development agency, established in 1967 to help war-orphaned and abandoned children in Vietnam. Their teams have worked with children, refugees and other vulnerable people in some of the poorest and most war-torn areas of the world.

Dale Street’s 2002 annual fund-raising campaign, ‘Focus 2002’, raised over £4000 for CORD, principally for projects in Afghanistan.

Today, there are over half a million adults and young people enjoying the fun and friendship of Scouting in the United Kingdom.

Girlguiding UK (formally the Guide Association), as part of a worldwide movement, enables girls and young women to fulfil their potential and to take an active and responsible role in society through its distinctive, stimulating and enjoyable programme of activities delivered by trained volunteer leaders.

At Dale Street, we operate a joint Scout and Guide Group. Click here for more details.
